When I posted the blog entry When To See A Doctor I promised I would update after I had my breast biopsy, and here it is. I had a core needle biopsy done on Friday. The procedure was fairly quick and painless. I did bleed a bit, and the bandage intially looked more like I had taken a gun shot blast to the chest, but the actual incision is small and healing. Regular tylenol takes care of the minor pain. The procedure is really nothing to fear, and maybe saving my life.
The Radiologist was rather blunt with me stating that in their opinion this is a cancerous lump and even if the biopsy comes back benign it is worrying enough to have removed asap. Naturally this scared the crap out of me! When she was taking the samples I told her to keep going and get it the fuck out all out. I just want this out of my body.
So as of today I'm awaiting the biopsy results and then surgery. I am trying very hard to be brave and positive for my three girls, Matthew, my Sister, and nieces, nephews and family and my friends. I am trying to quiet my mind and find some sort of peace in this time of uncertainty.
And I am hoping whatever this is its caught early and I can recover fully and completely.
Positive thoughts, words of wisdom, hugs, and prayers most welcome

For months now I have resisted the urge to blog about Mayor Ford. Rob Ford's antics are funny on one hand and highly, highly disturbing on the other and can easily make for much blogging fodder, but the truth is I am embarrassed. I am sad that this City, where I was born, raised, and make my home and love very much has been so humiliated on an international stage.
Rob Ford's crack smoking is actually the least of my concerns. His refusal to co-operate with a police investigation, his lies, his racist, and homophobic remarks, his association with known criminals, his implication in a case that includes extortion, and murder. Here is a list of some of the problematic behaviour of the Mayor beginning with a violent episode when he was a teenager.
Its mind boggling that Ford is still Mayor after yesterday's admission of crack use. Surely his career as a politician is over.....you'd think.....but as the sun rises on crack nation here is an example of a Facebook conversation I had with someone who would still vote for Rob Ford.

My love and appreciation goes out to Mimi Lenox as it does every year for starting it all.
The 2013 cast and crew of Haunted Mississauga presented by Heritage Mississauga. That is me in the red/black cloak centre/bottom row and my hubby Matthew 2nd from the right top row.
This past Friday October 25th Matthew and I volunteered with Heritage Mississauga to present the 12th annual Haunted Mississauga event that brings the past back to life so to speak. This year the story was set just after the War of 1812, and Matthew and I played disgruntled Mississauga farm folk. The event was held at the Bradley Museum, and Matthew and I were stationed outside cooking over an open fire with another volunteer who was playing a very drunk and disorderly innkeeper.
It was a lot of fun interacting with the public, especially as we were allowed to adlib throughout and it became more and more of a comedic skit as the night went on . The other volunteers and staff of Museums of Mississauga made it a memorable experience and were great to work with
Next year Haunted Mississauga will be held at the historic Benares House and set during WWI, and we are already very much looking forward to it!
