Fairy Stories

February 3rd, 2015

Recalling the days when there was no question that fairies are real and anything is possible. This was the child I was envisioning yesterday in a lovely morning telephone chat with a friend on childhood, dreams, and reality ... what a lovely space this is..... until stuff like this happens :)

And The Light Beckons

January 27th, 2015

This haunting image reminds me of the informal experiments I conducted on myself in 2010 using a psychomanteum similar in design to Dr Raymond Moody. My purpose was to help alleviate the grief I was experiencing at losing my Mother, but in the end I think it raised more questions than it provided answers or even meaningful comfort. My personal experiments were never published online, but for those interested in oracles, divination, and Dr Moody's work you can follow through the link I added above for more information.

Beware The Humans Are Among Us

I know what you are thinking and too soon!

This is how I imagine many different creatures real and imagined might react when confronted with the idea of us.

Just Don't Call Me Suzy

Baking like its 1869!

I wanted to try a little healthy baking  with some wild blueberries I had been saving, and decided to try this heritage muffin recipe. I used all organic products, including organic meadow butter, and yoghurt, pure vanilla, and Grainstorm ancient grains. Grainstorm is a Canadian company, which sells organic non-GMO grains, that I first heard about at the Fort York Frost Fair back in early December. Their flour contains gluten (of course) which is fine, and healthy for everyone who does not suffer celiac disease or other intolerance to it. Read Grainstorms rant on the toxic junk that modern wheat has become over the last couple of generations, and learn.  Real food is good for us and does taste way better.

Here is another wider angle photo and I've included the grain mix I've used.  And yes these are way more delicious than my photos can convey.

On another note, the festive decorations and tree are still up until after Ukranian Christmas, which I do observe in honour of my Ukranian people. My forest bouquet pictuered is also still going strong. I've just added a ribbon and put it in a more festive red jar. since I posted the original pic of it in the mason jar.

I must say with the festive lights, my beeswax candles, and the smell of blueberry baking its feeling pretty cozy in my little space of the world right now. :)
